.Rimini, 14th October 2017 . Destination Italy and Italian know-how are key players worldwide. Italy´s tourist industry ends the Rimini days on the optimistic note of positive 2017 figures, with the renewed awareness of being able to affect world markets thanks to its excellent enterprises, and the consciousness of having the necessary means for further acceleration in 2018.
The requisites for taking off towards new prominence: knowledge of the market and trends in the mid-term period, consequent innovation of the products offered, rapid application of the relative development strategies. Actions that the three intense expo days, under the banner of business and specialist training, greatly stimulated.
The appointment with the leading Italian tourist marketplace leader and one of the top in Europe, organized by Italian Exhibition Group ended today at Fiera di Rimini, putting the accent on concrete action.
TTG Incontri B2B expo for the vacation business, SIA Guest International Hospitality Exhibition and Sun International Exhibition of the Outdoor World drew 72,667 visitors (5% more then 2016).
There was further progress in the expo figures compared to expectations on the eve: 2,550 exhibitors, 150 destinations represented, 1,500 buyers from 90 Countries, 300 events promoted by IEG and its partners. The expos´ overall foreign share rose by 24%
The rhythm was up-tempo right from the first day when, during the inauguration, Italian Exhibition Group shared its international development strategies with trade members, with the aim of accompanying enterprises from both the incoming and the outgoing sector towards a future as top players for everything ´Beautiful and Well-made´ in Italian tourism.
There was also the important announcement of the inking of a joint venture between Italian Exhibition Group and VNU Asia Group for setting up EAGLE (Europe Asia Global Link Exhibitions). The joint agreement with the Dutch company will lead in the next twelve months to two new expos in the tourism and wellness sectors, after which the range will be expanded to also include initiatives dedicated to circular economy. The events already set are Shanghai World Travel Fair (24-27 May 2018) for Eastern China and Travel Trade Market (TTM) (14-16 September 2018) in Chengdu, in Western China. A solid virtuous partnership to generate value in favour of Italy´s global tourism system.
PlanITsphere is the platform that unites the Italian community of the tourist and hospitality worlds, with the three exhibitions TTG, SIA Guest and Sun. An example of strategic business development which highlights the exhibitions´ roles as business activators, content providers and strategic reference points for the sector. The new brand is based on Italian flair and creativity, able to highlight, interpret and transform products and anticipate trends, as well as planning and developing new business. Another practical instrument is that of Industry Vision Travel & Hospitality, a survey at its first edition under the IEG logo which evaluated the sentiment and economic forecasts of enterprises in the various tourism sectors, generally satisfied with nine record months and orientated towards optimism for the future.
Thanks to an innovative method, Industry Vision also identified the types of demand that will arrive in the next decade. Fundamental contributions for enterprises, which will have to be in sync with what has emerged, in order to generate the expected economic value.
All the figures of TTG, SIA and SUN show very positive signs.
The three days attracted the attention of the media: 750 journalists accredited at the expos; 155 million media contacts obtained to date. There was impressive participation on behalf of the sector´s bloggers, with over 300 attending. Not to mention the extraordinary success of the live streaming, which, from the expos´ home page, offered the possibility of following the most important events live or later, thanks to four channels followed by over 25,000 unique users. In recent weeks, the expos´ Web sites were visited by 90,000 unique users, for a total of 902,000 pages viewed.
Lastly, the announcement of the next edition of IEG´s tourism marketplace, from Wednesday 10th to Friday 12th October 2018. The decision to hold the event mid-week was shared by trade members and has the aim of increasing the expos´ business profile.
